Which species can you supply?
Our core species are Greenheart, Purpleheart, Kabukalli, Wamara, Mora and Wallaba. Shibadan, Tatabu, Crabwood, Locust and other Guyanese hardwoods are available depending on what our concessions are cutting. See the timber page for details.
Can every species be exported as logs?
No. Guyana restricts log exports of some species, and those ship as squares or lumber. When you enquire, we'll confirm which forms each species can ship in.
What sizes do you cut?
We cut 8×8, 10×10 and 12×12 inch squares in 16, 20 and 24 ft lengths, plus rough-sawn boards and planks. Other sections and lengths are cut to order.
How do I know the timber is legal?
We're licensed by the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC). Every tree and log is tagged at the stump, and the tag numbers are recorded in the national Wood Tracking System, so each piece traces back to its concession. Each shipment comes with a GFC export certificate and origin documents for your due diligence.
Do you kiln dry or fumigate?
Yes. Kiln drying is available on request for lumber and smaller sections. We fumigate when US import rules require it, and every shipment has a phytosanitary certificate.
How is timber shipped, and on what terms?
We ship in 40′ containers from Georgetown. A 40′ container takes pieces up to about 11.8 m (38 ft); longer piles ship breakbulk. We quote FOB Georgetown or CIF to your US port.
Which countries do you ship to?
We export only to the United States, to any US port, FOB Georgetown or CIF.
What documents come with a shipment?
GFC export certificate, phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list with piece count and volume, and the bill of lading. Fumigation or kiln-drying certificates are included when those were ordered.
How does payment work?
Payment terms and Incoterms are agreed with each buyer and confirmed in writing before we prepare the order.
What's the minimum order and lead time?
It depends on the species, product and season. Send us your specification and we'll confirm availability, minimums and a loading date.
